Wayne Nordberg Headlines Ivy Family Office Network New York City Forum

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 18, 2012

Hollow Brook Wealth Managements Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, Wayne Nordberg headlined the Ivy Family Office Network New York City Forum with a discussion on 2013 Portfolio Allocations The Forum was held on December 11th in midtown Manhattan.

According to Mr. Nordberg, Government balance sheet sustainability is an unanswered question with inflationary deleveraging seen as the only politically viable solution. Due to government and Federal Reserve manipulation, we are going through a period of financial repression. The last financial repression in the 1970s which ended in the abandonment of Bretton Woods led to 8 years of inflationary conflagration and structural imbalance. Gold went from $ 35 to $ 850 per ounce. Because we have fiscal imbalances far beyond that crisis, it ultimately will be concluded that the U.S. has no intention of honoring its debts at todays currency value.

Because of foreseeable policy there is a need to move to assets that can survive potential inflationary environments. To avoid default, the U.S. will require $ 1 to 1.6 trillion in tax increases or spending cuts, Bush tax cuts only provide $ 200 billion, Simpson-Bowles $ 600 billion. We see a bubble in bonds where they are significantly over valued though there is a flight to bonds by institutional investors. Equities are at historical lows in terms of ownership yet have been outperforming bonds and are undervalued. Overall we maintain a strong outlook toward equities performance and re-balancing towards more commodities and real assets

Mr. Nordberg is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, he is primarily responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Hollow Brook's risk management and asset allocation systems.
